Blaine issues outdoor wood boiler guidelines

Posted September 29, 2008 by John T. Ryan Zoning Enforcement Officer Paul Blaine has issued guidelines for Peru’s recently passed Outdoor Wood Boiler (OWB) law. They were  issued in an attempt to clarify the law’s primary provisions.

“Walk of Faith” this coming weekend

Posted September 28, 2008 by John T. Ryan Peru’s second  “Walk of Faith” will be held on Saturday, October 4th. The walk will start at St. Patrick’s Church on the Patent Road and proceed down the Mannix Road to the St. Augustine’s Parish Center.

Posted September 24, 2008 The Peru Town Board listened to public opinion on September 8th. They responded to some public concerns by making minor changes to the proposed law and on Monday, September 22nd they passed a law controlling and restricting outdoor wood boilers in the Town of Peru. Council holds hearing and meeting and nears boiler vote

During the public hearing some residents complimented the board for having drafted workable compromise legislation while other residents questioned the need for the law.

PCS enrollment holding steady!

Posted September 14, 2008 By John T. Ryan Peru Central School enrolled 2,146 students this September. When school closed this past June the school had 2,122 students.  There are 143 students enrolled in kindergarten this September. In June 2008, the kindergarten enrollment was 141 students.
