Picking Peru’s beautiful apples has begun!
By John T. Ryan
Picking the beautiful fruit in Peru’s orchards is in full swing following the arrival of hundreds of Jamaican apple pickers. The pickers in Forrence’s Orchard along the Barney Downs Road picked the very popular honey crisp variety, calling them “oney crisp.” The pickers slowly and carefully deposited the apples in bins under the watchful eye of their supervisor. Honey crisps command some of the highest prices in the maketplace. They said they were picking the red fruit. Orchard manager Seth Forrence said these men are very experienced pickers.

What a great idea to have a ‘Peru Gazette’ – loved the apple orchard article. Keep up the good work – Peru has lots to offer:)
