Family Court Judge Candidates’ Forum on Monday
Posted on October 24, 2008 by John T. Ryan
The position drawing the most attention in this year’s local elections appears to be that of Clinton County Family Court Judge. Judge Timothy Lawliss is seeking reelection. He is being challenged by attorney William Meconi. Both candidates have been invited to participate in a Candidates’ Forum to be held on Monday, October 27th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Legislative Chambers of the Clinton County Government Center. The forum is sponsored by the Clinton County Domestic Violence Task Force and will be moderated by the League of Women Voters. The forum is open to the public!

I was recently informed that candidate William Meconi has declined to participate in the Forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters, but that the Forum will continue as planned with the entire Forum devoted to questioning of candidate Timothy Lawliss. This is the second forum in a row that William Meconi has declined to participate in. This should raise questions regarding why Mr. Meconi refuses repeated opportunities to answer questions relative to his ability and qualifications for the position of Clinton County Family Court Judge.
