2009 Preliminary budgets & tax rates for your review

The Town of Peru Preliminary 2009 General, Highway and Water & Sewer budgets will be the subject of a public hearing on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 7 p.m. The general and highway budgets follow. Certain expenses have been consolidated for the purpose of brevity and simplicity. The water and sewer budgets are not included. The general budget tax rate is expected to decline from $2.28 in 2008 to $2.23 in 2009. The highway department tax rate is expected to decline from $2.74 to $2.67. The water and sewer tax rate is expected to increase from $2.44 to $2.47. Valcour sewer rates for 2009 are expected to be $1.486 for residential users and $1.845 for commercial users.
