Plattsburgh Animal Hospital to open in Peru

In a few weeks Peru should have an animal hospital in the center of the community. Plattsburgh Animal Hospital plans to open a facility at 692 Bear Swamp Road in a building that was purchased from Key Chevrolet. Dr. Joseph Church told the Gazette that he and Dr. Tom Brown would open the clinic as soon as renovation of the building is completed which he estimates will take from two to four weeks.
Dr. Church said that there aren’t any veterinarian services in Peru at this time even though it’s a good size community. He explained, “We’re trying to grow our business. If we have offices in several locations we can have one large central location where we can have the sophisticated equipment to do the more complicated procedures.” Plattsburgh Animal Hospital currently has two offices in the Town of Plattsburgh. One is on Route 9 north opposite the former North Country Shopping Center and the other is at the corner of Route 3 and Hammond Lane.
Doctors Brown and Church also plan on opening a facility in the Saranac area. They have purchased the former Redford Diner and hope to open there in January. Opening that facility will take longer because the Adirondack Park Agency must approve their plans.
