Family Court Judge, Presidential voting analyzed – who got write-in ballots
By John T. Ryan Most people would probably agree that the most interesting local political contest in the November elections was the race for Clinton County Family Court Judge. Nationally, the Presidential race will go down in history and Clinton County voters did their part to elect Barrack Obama to office.

Local homes sales continue to decline
By John T. Ryan Clinton County existing home sales slowed significantly in November according to figures released Tuesday by the New York State Association of Realtors. Clinton County’s sales were relatively strong through August, but since then they have declined steadily. Median home prices also declined compared to last year.

Town Board selects its confidential secretary & makes appointments
By John T. Ryan The Peru Town Board announced at its Monday, December 22, 2008 meeting that it had selected Pamela Barber to fill the newly created position of confidential secretary to the Town Board position. Barber will begin work on December 29th.

Witkiewitz family thanks everyone!
By Theresa Higgins-Witkiewicz We lost our home and all of our belongings in a house fire at 64 Elm Street in Peru in October. (October Story) We were in shock and grief stricken, not knowing how we would ever recover. Since the fire, the outpouring of support we have received is almost unbelievable.

Board continues to cut costs – open burning law may be coming

Ecumenical Choir to perform
