Local homes sales continue to decline

Clinton County existing home sales slowed significantly in November according to figures released Tuesday by the New York State Association of Realtors. Clinton County’s sales were relatively strong through August, but since then they have declined steadily. Median home prices also declined compared to last year.
Twenty-five Clinton County homes were sold this November compared to forty sold last November, a decrease of 37.5%. The median November sales price decreased 8% from $125,000 to $115,000.
Statewide, the number of homes sold in November declined by 23.5% compared to the previous November while median sales prices held steady at $210,000.
