 Betty Corrow, Chair of the Town of Peru Planning Board, called the meeting of Wednesday, April 8, 

2009 at 7:00pm, to order.

APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY MINUTES:  

 

MOTION: Mr. Robinson made a motion to approve the February minutes. Second by Mr. Blaise.  

 ROLL CALL: Mr. Holderman – abstained, Mr. Williams – yes, Mr. Trout- yes, Mr. Robinson – yes,  

 Mr. Blaise – yes, Mrs. Corrow – abstained.

PUBLIC HEARING: 

 

 

1.    SUBDIVISION &             Karl Twetan 

      SEQR: 3-Lot Subdivision on Barker Rd. 

 

Mr. Trout stated that he reviewed the property and it does meet set-back requirements and appears 

to have no problems. Mr. Blaine stated that there are 2 houses currently located on the property 

and Mr. Twetan would like to subdivide the land into 3 parcels. Mr. Blaine stated that there are 

wet lands on the property. Mr. Blaine stated that there is a small piece of land that connects to 

Bear Swamp Rd. which is 50ft. wide and there is also land on the opposite side of Rt. 22. Mr. 

Blaine stated that there are 4 different zones on the property, RL-1, I-C, H-3, and Com-1. Mr. 

Blaine stated that as long as the proposed home is built within the 250’ of frontage from Barker 

Rd. where the proposed parcel is located, there will be no Variances needed. Mr. Williams asked 

why there were 2 leach fields located on the property. Mr. Twetan stated that one of the leach 

fields is for sewer and the other is for grey water. Mr. Blaise asked which lot he planned to build

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8, 2009 

 

on. Mr. Twetan stated that he planned to build on lot 1 shown on the aerial map. Mr. Twetan asked 

if it would be okay if the leach field would extend past the 250’ where the house would be built. 

Mr. Murnane stated that he didn’t view that as a problem because a leach field is not a structure. 

 

MOTION: Mr. Holderman moved to declare this an unlisted action and name the Town of Peru Planning 

Board as lead agency. Second by Mr. Williams. 

 ROLL CALL: Mr. Holderman – yes, Mr. Williams – yes, Mr. Trout- yes, Mr. Robinson – yes,  

 Mr. Blaise – yes, Mrs. Corrow – yes. 

MOTION CARRIED. 

 

MOTION:  Mr. Trout moved to declare this a negative declaration. Second by Mr. Blaise. 

 ROLL CALL: Mr. Holderman – yes, Mr. Williams – yes, Mr. Trout- yes, Mr. Robinson – yes,  

 Mr. Blaise – yes, Mrs. Corrow – yes. 

MOTION CARRIED. 

 

MOTION: Mr. Blaise made a motion to approve the application. Second by Mr. Robinson.

MOTION CARRIED.    

 

 

ANY FURTHER BUSINESS: 

 

Mr. Blaine stated that Mr. Chase did not take his oath of office. Mr. Blaine stated that there will be 

training held on April 29, 2009 at 6:00pm in the Town Hall. Mrs. Corrow asked if a reminder could be 

sent out for the training.  

 

CEO REPORT:  

 

Mr. Blaine stated that March was a fairly slow month. Mr. Blaine stated that two Building Permits for 

homes have been issued and there are two applications to go in front of the Planning Board for May.
