School budget approved and Brian Post elected to Board of Education

Voters approved the proposed $41,586,451 Peru Central School 2011-2012 budget on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 with 589 yes votes and 350 no votes. The tax rate will increase by 2.9% to $18.29 per thousand dollars of assessed value.
The proposition to purchase school buses passed with 540 yes votes and 380 no votes.
Brian Post was the winner of the open School Board position succeeding Rodney Brown. The vote totals were as follows:
Brian Post – 261
Linda Morgan – 218
Dr. Stephen St. Onge – 199
Mark Lukens – 143
