Many people stopped by to enjoy the Babbie Museum on “Museum Day”

The Babbie Rural and Farm Learning Museum participated in the Press Republican’s 4th Annual Museum Day on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Leeward Babbie and other family members were on hand with live demonstrations and museum tours. When this reporter visited Todd Babbie was demonstrating the shingle shake mill powered by a 1945 Farmall H. A blacksmith was forging a letter opener from a steel rod and Audrey Falcon was showing visitors household tools used in the North Country over 100 years ago. Young people were enjoying Chilly and Willy, the two beautiful Haflinger horses in the museum corral. Here are a few photos of today’s Gazette visit to the museum.
