Democrats nominate McDonald and Bruno
Town of Peru Democrats nominated Brandy McDonald and Kregg Bruno as their candidates for the Peru Town Council at a party caucus held on Thursday, June 9th at the Peru Town Hall. Neither man faced any opposition at the caucus. Both are incumbents. McDonald has served on the Board for four years while Bruno was elected to a two-year term in 2009 to the position that opened up when Counselor Cortland Forrence resigned with two years left on his term of office.
Retired Peru Town Justice Peter Keenan addressed his fellow Democrats. He spoke about his candidacy for the position of Area 5 County Legislator. Keenan said about 1,400 of the Area 5 voters reside in the Town of Peru, while about 3,000 reside in the Town of Schuyler Falls.
