Our community has a new ambulance
By John T. Ryan
The Peru Volunteer Fire Department put a new ambulance into service on June 20, 2011. Chief Brian Westover said the Ford E450 replaces a 1999 with about 59,000 miles. While the CVPH Medical Center provides primary ambulance service for the Town of Peru, the Peru Ambulance is called when there are two emergencies in progress at the same time. The new ambulance cost the Department $160,000. The advanced life-support equipment in the old ambulance was transferred to the new vehicle. CVPH Medical Center purchased the old ambulance for $18,500.
