Owens to hold telephone town hall Wednesday
From the Office of Congressman Bill Owens
WASHINGTON – In an ongoing effort to conduct an open discussion about the issues that affect New York, Congressman Bill Owens will hold a telephone town hall next Wednesday, December 7th. Owens will update callers about the effort to create jobs in New York and take questions from callers from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
“There are still many unanswered questions for those looking for jobs in New York, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to provide a forum for constituents to voice their concerns and discuss what is important to them,” said Owens. “This is another great opportunity for New Yorkers to ask me questions, share what is on their mind, or just listen to the conversation.”
A random sample of residents in New York’s 23rd Congressional District will be chosen to participate in the conference call Wednesday evening. To request a phone call invitation, a constituent from NY-23 can email their name and number to ny23townhall@mail.house.gov or call the Congressman’s Washington office at 202-225-4611.
The telephone town hall conference call is offered as a convenient way for constituents in New York’s 23rd Congressional District to stay up-to-date on the issues of the day.
To bring a higher level of service to constituents in a large district, Owens has held traditional live town hall meetings throughout NY-23, a congressional district that spans 14,000 square miles and encompasses all or part of eleven different counties in Northern and Central New York. Additionally, Owens and his staff have held more than 90 mobile office hours this year at locations throughout the region to meet with New Yorkers who may not have time to travel to the nearest office.
Those unable to participate in Thursday’s telephone town hall can contact Congressman Owens by calling any of his offices in New York or Washington, by visiting his website at http://owens.house.gov, connecting with him on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/repbillowens, or following him on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/BillOwensNY.
