Discover our universe through images taken by local amateur astronomers
Are you a star gazer? Amateur astronomy is a rewarding hobby. The Vermont Astronomical Society (VAS) has about 75 members that share this common interest. Several VAS members use their equipment to image the Sun and the night sky. This presentation uses their images to show the wonders in the sky above. Ron Anstey will show photographs taken with a digital camera and tripod and discuss how you might do this yourself. Ron will also use images that reach out to the deep sky to show other galaxies that are millions of light years away. Through these images, he will try to convey the size of our solar system and of the universe.
