Owens to hold telephone Town Hall next Tuesday

WASHINGTON – In an ongoing effort to conduct an open discussion about the issues that affect New York, Congressman Bill Owens will hold a telephone town hall next Tuesday, July 24th.  Owens will update callers about the push to create quality jobs in New York and take questions from callers from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. To date, Owens has connected with more than 117,000 constituents through telephone town halls.

“I am pleased to provide a forum to update constituents on my efforts to create jobs and help small businesses in the region. This is a great opportunity for New Yorkers to ask me questions, share what is on their mind, or just listen to the conversation,” said Owens.

A random sample of residents in New York’s 23rd Congressional District will be chosen to participate in the conference call Tuesday evening.  To request a phone call invitation, a constituent from NY-23 can sign up by registering online <http://bit.ly/Lyq40b> .

The telephone town hall is offered as a convenient way for constituents in New York’s 23rd Congressional District to stay up-to-date on the issues of the day.

To bring a higher level of service to constituents in a large district, Owens has held traditional live town hall meetings throughout NY-23, a congressional district that spans 14,000 square miles and encompasses all or part of eleven different counties in Northern and Central New York.  Additionally, Owens and his staff hold regular office hours at locations throughout the region to meet with New Yorkers who may not have time to travel to their nearest office.

Those unable to participate in Tuesday’s telephone town hall can contact Congressman Owens by calling any of his offices in New York or Washington, by visiting his website at http://owens.house.gov, connecting with him on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/repbillowens, or following him on Twitter at  http://www.twitter.com/BillOwensNY.
