Senator Little reappointed Chair of Cultural Affairs, Tourism Committee
Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman administers the oath of office to Senator Betty Little in the Senate Chamber in Albany on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Little represents the 45th District, comprising Warren, Essex, Franklin, Clinton and parts of St. Lawrence and Washington Counties.
State Senator Betty Little has been reappointed chair of the Senate Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee for the 2013-14 legislative session, a position she has held the past two years.
“I’m very happy to be reappointed given the tourism industry’s importance to the North Country economy,” said Little. “Governor Cuomo’s executive budget includes new funding for tourism promotion, which is great to see and I look forward to learning more about this proposal in an upcoming budget hearing. New York’s diverse inventory of cultural, historical, natural and recreational assets is second to none. Promoting them through paid advertising is costly but study after study shows that it’s an investment with a great return.”
Little has also been appointed to the following committees: Consumer Protection; Crime Victims, Crime and Correction; Education; Environmental Conservation; Finance; and Judiciary.
