Hundreds send off Vets’ Honor Flight
Hundreds of people came to the Base Oval and the Clinton County Airport this morning to give sixteen World War II veterans a wonderful “North Country Honor Flight” send-off. This afternoon the veterans and their escorts will visit the World War Ii Memorial, the Iwo Jima Monument and Arlington Cemetery. They’ll arrive back home about 11 tonight. Please watch the slideshow. I think you’ll find it to be an emotional experience. Click here to view slideshow. Turn up your sound!

Very touching slide show and stories John. Thank you for reminding us that the freedom we have is because of these brave men and women.

The Honor Flight was definitely the most emotional story I’ve covered over many years. Happiness radiated from all the vets and their families. I’ve also spoken to several vets and they loved the visit to DC. Congratulations to Danny Kaifetz and everyone associated with the North Country Honor Flight Program.
