By John T. Ryan
Three men well known to Peru residents, all Korean War Era Veterans, were members of the June 4th North County Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Dave Brown of Peru was kind enough to provide the Peru Gazette with photos of their send-off at the U.S. Oval and their departure and arrival Clinton County International Airport.
The Honorees were:
Guy D. Banker escorted by his daughter Peggy Eaglefeather
Clifford H. Brown escorted by his son Rodney Brown
Robert L. St. John escorted by Richard Cutting

Every time I watch the video and listen to Lee Greenwood how grateful I am for those who answered the call. For those who gave the ultimate sacrifice will sleep until they are reunited with those who fought by their side to keep America free. For all in all wars do not forget them each day that you wake understanding we are free because of them Too often we go through the day as usual taking freedom for granted, but if it were not for those who answered the call it would be entirely different. Keep in prayer the families who lost their loved one and thank God for those who came back to us never tooting a horn but quietly became that American who gladly gave his time to America and people he would never know.
If you have never attended an Honor Flight as Veteran’s are recognized to go to Washinton, DC a day just for them, go next time June 18th, 2016 and be a part of this wonderful day. I promise the day will be with you always being an American will have a deeper meaning.
A thank you to all those who made this day so special.
