Champlain Valley Business and Professional Women have announced that applications are now being accepted for participation in the 2017 Virginia Allan Young Careerist Program to be held Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 5:30pm at Uno Pizzeria & Grill on Route 3 in Plattsburgh.
The Virginia Allan Young Careerist Program is a high profile Business and Professional Women signature program that recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of young professionals. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for encouragement, support and recognition of women and men in the early stages of their careers.
Young Careerist Representatives must meet the following criteria:
Must be between 21 and 35 years of age.
Must have been employed in business or professions with at least one year of full-time work experience.
Must be living, working or training, or continuing their education in NY State or Vermont.
Must support the goals, objectives and legislative platform of the BPW Foundation.
This year’s four-minute speech topic is:
How do you handle adversity in your personal and professional life (in the past and currently) and continue to remain focused on your career and being successful?
A certificate and 1 year BPW membership will be awarded to the new Virginia Allan Young Careerist — as well as the opportunity to proceed to the state level competition in Vermont on May 20, 2017 at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier VT; the Champlain Valley BPW will pay all fees, including room and board, for the competing participant.
