Peru – When interviewed for a January 2015 Peru Gazette lifetime achievement story, longtime Peru resident Jack Lawliss answered the question: What is the best thing about living in Peru? He said, “The people! We have great people here. We have a lot of conveniences. I live a mile from the school, the church, the drugstore, the hardware store, the garage, the supermarket, the town hall and three restaurants. It’s a beautiful area geographically. I love it here.”
Over the next few weeks the Peru Gazette will be posting photos of some of the people Jack spoke about; the people who staff Peru businesses and institutions. Their smiles, general courtesy and professionalism are important in making Peru a great place to live.
Our first photo features the hardworking Stewart’s staff. Stewart’s Shops is an employee and family-owned convenience store chain with over 330 shops across upstate New York and southern Vermont. Stewart’s Shops is known for its milk, ice cream treats, coffee, grocery, gasoline and other convenience items. Peru’s shop is open 4:30am until midnight.
