20th Flight September 2
The Veterans will arrive at the Veterans Park on the US Oval by police and motorcycle escort at around 6:15 am. The send-off ceremony will begin at 7 am sharp. After the ceremony the parade will circle the oval and head to Plattsburgh International Airport. The parade route will be lined with well wishers and the local fire departments which come to show their appreciation for ” the greatest generation “.
The aircraft loading and take-off will be viewable from a designated spot in the airport parking lot. The fly-by and wing tip salute to the crowd is always a great sight after take-off.
At 8:30 pm there will be a ” picnic in the dark ” as we wait for our heroes to return at around 10:30 pm.
Music by Movin’ On and the Mr. Ding-a-long ice cream truck will be at the Oval as well as a poster making booth. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be provided by Regal Cinemas. This event along with all parts of the day are family friendly. Everyone is encouraged to take part in any or all portions of the day. All we ask is you bring your enthusiasm and appreciation for what these Veterans have sacrificed for our country.
Please don’t hesitate to call or email for any additional information.
