Approved Minutes of Peru Town Board Meeting May 14th Meeting
The regular meeting of the Peru Town Board was held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Peru Town Hall. Those present were Mr. Brandy McDonald Supervisor; Mr. James Douglass, Councilman; Mr. James Langley, Councilman; Mr. Melvin Irwin, Councilman; Mr. Matthew Favro, Town Attorney; Mrs. Dianne Miller, Town Clerk. Also present were Mr. Courtney Tetrault, Water/Sewer Superintendent; Mr. Michael Farrell, Highway Superintendent; Mr. Bob Guynup, Zoning Officer; Mr. James Kirby, Town Justice; Ms. Pamela Barber, Confidential Secretary to the Board; and Mr. Dave Drollette, Dog Control officer
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 PM by Mr. McDonald, with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Mr. Douglass seconded by Mr. Irwin to approve the minutes from the April 23, 2018 meeting. Ayes 4 Nays 0 Motion Carried
Motion by Mr. Langley, seconded by Mr. Irwin to include the reports from the following departments into the official record of tonight’s meeting. (Water/Sewer/Valcour; Highway; Town Clerk; Dog Control; Youth Department; Code/Zoning; Supervisor’s Report; Court; Website; and Banking Reports). Ayes 4 Nays 0 Motion Carried

Review and Acceptance of Main St. Project Bids
No bids were received.
Adele Douglas has asked to reopen bid and to allow 2 weeks for bids to be received.

Sewer Upgrade USDA RD Funding Update
Mr. Tetrault stated paperwork was received for the upgrade. A workshop was set up for May 29
at 6 PM.
Motion by Mr. Douglass seconded by Mr. Langley to set up workshop for May 29, 2018 at 6 PM.

Bear Swamp Lift Station Update
Mr. Tetrault received quote for the repair of the Bear Swamp Lift. The quote received by Emerick Associates was for $ 18,775.00 with an additionial $5000.00 to upgrade electrical
control panel and wiring not to exceed $25,000.00.
Motion by Mr. Langley seconded by Mr. Douglass to authorize Mr. Tetrault to have Bear Swamp Lift repaired.

May 5 Wind Storm Update
Mr.Farrell stated our area was one of the hardest hit. Many poles, wires and trees were brought down by the wind. Excellent command center was set up by Greg Timmons.Mr. Farrell and Mr. McDonald were out assessing the damage thru out the night. Seven roads had trees down on them,the highway department made sure roads were open & safe for school buses. Mr. Farrell is filing a FEMA report for the added expense of labor and clean up due to the wind storm. Mr. Tetrault stated that it was also a long weekend dealing with water issues.
Logics Software Update
Ms. Barber stated May 8 and May 9 2018 training was administered by Logics trainer and account representative. All data has been transferred from KVS to Logics. Bank reconciliation
will no longer be done manually but still monitored as it will be done automatically.
The system will be on line and live June 4, 2018.

Adele Douglas has asked for tent rental and Mr. Tetraults’ crew to set a table for this event
The funds will be used from the celebration account

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF EMILY SYPEK TO THE
TOWN YOUTH COMMISSION
MOTION: Mr. Douglass SECOND: Mr. Irwin
WHEREAS, The Peru Youth Commission has recommended that Emily Sypek be appointed to the Peru Youth Commission as of this date.
THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, the Peru Town Board agrees with the recommendation of the Peru Youth Commission and appoints Emily Sypek AND, BE IT
RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately.

Other Business
Mr. Tetrault stated Maiden Lane was having pump issues. Two mowers have broken down and the fire district has let the department borrow yhier mowers. A 3A certification is needed for DEC.
Motion by Mr. McDonald seconded by Mr. Langley for Mr.Tetrault to attend class in October 2018 for a 3A certification.

Mr. Guynup stated a building permit was needed for any repair to roofs. Five items are on the agenda for the next planning board meeting. Washington Street Development has begun. Dean Lashway is the surveyor.
Mr. Drollette stated 3 more dog bites and trial next week.
Mr. Kirby stated a few shingles off the court house and bus turn around sign up was damage from windstorm.
Mr. McDonald stated many shingles missing from Town Hall from windstorm. Thank you comments from Mr. Schiffler & Mr. and Mrs. Tarbox on a job well done by Mr. Farrell and Mr. Tetraults crew during the windstorm and the involvement of Mr. Mcdonald as written in the thank you correspondences.
Mr. Langley asked which roads were being repaired. Mr. Farrell stated Patent Road,School Street and bottom of Ormsby Circle.
Solar System Replica Presentation By PCSD Science Students
PCSD Science Students presented a video of the solar system to be placed along The Little Ausable Trail. The students explained the model and asked for permission to exhibit the model.
Motion by Mr. Langley seconded by Mr. Douglass to approve the students to exhibit the model.
