James Sentencing Scheduled for August 7
Michael V. James is scheduled to appear in Peru Town Court for sentencing on Tuesday, August 7th at 2PM.
In May Richards was found guilty of misdemeanors second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree reckless endangerment; one count of the Dangerous Dog section of State Agriculture and Markets Law, a misdemeanor; and three counts each of dog causing harm to a person, dog running at large and unlicensed dog, all Peru Local Laws.
On September 22, 2017 James’s bulldog attacked 81-year-old Loretta Timmons in her Union Road driveway on September 22, 2017. James faces up to a year in county jail.
James’ sentencing had been scheduled for July 10, but was postponed at the request of the assistant district attorney. Today, sentencing was postposed at the request of the defense attorney. Judge Lawrence Cabana does not anticipate further postponements.
