Thankful for the Past Ten Years
The first Peru Gazette story appeared on September 4, 2008 (See below). After 10,127 stories on the website and thousands on our Facebook page stories are still being written and posted as often as time permits. One story (Tony Andrews on the Wheel of Fortune) reached 48,000 people and many reach several thousand primarily through Facebook which has almost 2,100 followers. People residing in every state visit the website.
Thank you to everyone who has been so cooperative over the past ten years especially local town officials, businesses and organizations. The level of cooperation has been amazing.
I’m also grateful to Don McBrayer who covered the Town Board prior to his becoming interested in politics, to Rodney Brown who gave advice when I first started, to Joanne Kennedy and Jim Neyenhouse for their great photos, to Adele Douglas who submitted many interesting stories and to Marque Moffett who recently began submitting great stories. Additional writers are always welcome. It’s a voluntary but rewarding experience.
Finally, I must thank my wife Jean who edits almost every story. Errors occur when I make changes after her edits.
Regards,
