UPDATE – VOTING HAS BEEN HEAVY BY HISTORICAL STANDARDS WITH 1,914 VOTES CAST AS OF 5 PM.
Peru – Voting was brisk at St. Augustine’s Parish Center at 10 a.m. As of 9:05 a.m. 471 ballots had been cast with voting at steady pace. The polls are open until 9 p.m. tonight. The Peru Gazette will post the local results as soon as possible after the polls close.
In the last “off-year” election (2014) 2,029 (49%) of Peru’s 4,134 registered voters cast ballots. This year Peru has 4,295 registered voters.
