A Message From the Peru Democratic Party
Thanks to everyone who took part in this evening’s meeting, especially Carol Blakeslee and Bill Todd, candidates for Clinton County Legislature Areas 7 and 5, respectively. The committee will send more information about each candidate soon.
At this time, there are a few important dates you may want to consider adding to your calendar:
Have a Heart for Isaiah Deslauriers: a fundraiser will be held this Saturday, March 2nd, starting at noon at Peru VFW to help the Deslauriers family as they await a heart transplant for 5-year-old Isaiah. The fundraiser includes a 50/50 raffle, an auction, and food sales. Please stop by on Saturday and help out this Peru family if you can. You can read more about it in a Press-Republican story here: https://www.pressrepublican.com/news/local_news/have-a-heart-for-isaiah-deslauriers/article_3d4c59a3-9991-59e1-9a9d-12be8f2a7ce5.html?fbclid=IwAR3_GX6JmBLOWXPR-rrmyYSu_zK9-BBXeVc6nJ-g4lkTRQjCuo2kn1IHqxw.
Petitions for Local Candidates: Local candidates running for County-level office must obtain signatures of at least 5% of registered Democrats in order to earn a place on the ballot later this year. Petition signatures should be obtained prior to March 26th. If you have been looking for an easy way to help in the local political scene, this would be a great way to do so. You can contact us if you are a registered Democrat who would like to sign a candidate’s petition and/or if you would like to carry a petition and collect signatures for a candidate. Please contact me, Marque Moffett, for more information.
Peru Democratic Committee Caucus: our caucus will be held promptly at 7 pm on Thursday, May 23rd.
Please stay tuned for additional information about our candidates for County Legislature, the petition process, our caucus, and other upcoming events.
With warm regards,
Marque Moffett
Secretary
Peru Democratic Committee
