A Beautiful Morning For Honor Flight #29
Plattsburgh Sept. 7 – It was a beautiful fall morning at the U.S. Oval as hundreds of people turned out for North Country Honor Flight #29 ceremonies. The veterans flying to Washington D.C. served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam including three brothers, Roger, Leeward and Clarence Miller all of whom are Mooers, NY natives.
Today’s 15 flight members are: David Barton – U.S. Navy – WWII; Paul Bjorklund – U.S. Army – Korea; Kenneth Delisle – U.S. Air Force – Korea; Warren Fournier – U.S. Army – Korea; Howard Frizzell – U.S. Army – Korea; Jean Holihan – U.S. Navy – Korea; Raymond Hosley – U.S. Army – Vietnam; Bruce LaHendro; U.S. Army – Vietnam; Roger Miller – U.S. Army – Vietnam; Leeward Miller – U.S. Army – Vietnam; Clarence Miller – U.S. Army – Vietnam; Vern Mack – U.S. Army – Korea; Richard St. Amour Sr. – U.S. Marine Corps – Korea; Joe Krupka – U.S. Air Force – Vietnam; Donald Shambo – U.S. Army – Vietnam.
Each flight has a sponsor(s). Flight #29 is being sponsored by Assemblyman Billy Jones, who with the help of his staff, raised $12,000 to pay for the flight.
