By John T. Ryan
Stewart’s conducted the official ribbon-cutting at its new Peru Shop this morning at 11 a.m. Store Manager Matt Duquette was given the honor of cutting the ribbon. Matt’s staff was very busy with store specials being offered all day.
Several local officials including Peru Deputy Town Supervisor Jim Douglass, Assemblyman D. Billy Jones and Kristy Kennedy of the North Country Chamber of Commerce thanked Stewart’s for its investment in the North Country.
Stewart’s representative Erica Komoroske thanked everyone and asked them to consider donating to the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program for local children’s charities. $670,000 has been collected so far this year. Stewart’s will match contributions dollar for dollar with no administrative charges. Last year the Holiday Match program resulted in over $2 million for local children’s charities.
Local 501(c)(3) children’s charities have until 12/31/19 to apply for the funds.
