Catch the Excitement at the 2021 Pro Bass Fishing Tournaments Pro tournaments ready to safely come back to Lake Champlain
Plattsburgh, NY – 9/18/20 – Bringing approximately $3.2 million to the local economy each year, it’s no wonder the Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and the City of Plattsburgh are again partnering to tentatively host four pro bass fishing tournaments next summer following all COVID-19 guidelines. Not to mention, Bassmaster Magazine continues to name Lake Champlain one of the top 100 best bass fishing lakes in the United States, attracting roughly 2,000 anglers from around the globe each year.
Although 2020 has brought its challenges, with approval from New York State and in cooperation with the Clinton County Health Department, the City of Plattsburgh and the ACVB were happy to host the Bassmaster Elite Series on Lake Champlain back in August. Despite the limitations and change in structure because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, this event, which in normal circumstances brings $1.5-$2 million to the host community, still was estimated to have an economic impact of $750,000-$1,000,000 – a nice impact on our community in a time when it was needed the most.
Along with the monetary impact it brought, all 4 days of the Elite Series tournament was broadcasted live on ESPN 2, ESPN 3 and Bassmaster.com. Coverage like this showcases the area to a much broader market, which will in turn have a future impact of new visitors wanting to explore the beauty of the Adirondack Coast and Lake Champlain.
That being said, pending a healthy 2021, the regular tournament season is sure to be lucrative and exciting when it starts next July:
2021 Tentative Tournament Dates
July 15-17: FLW Toyota Series
July 24: FLW BFL
August 7-11: MLF Pro Tour
September 25-26: ABA Open Series
