Maplefields new store on the Bear Swamp Road is open for business
By John T. Ryan
Maplefields new Peru convenience store at 442 Bear Swamp road officially opened for business yesterday afternoon, September 17, 2020.
When customers walk in, they’ll undoubtedly be impressed. The expansive interior’s fall colors and maple leaf logo strike a good note at this time of the year. Anyone looking for Subway will be disappointed. An equipment delay will delay its opening for a few weeks.
Along with all the traditional convenience store items, the new store features a large dining area and a beer cave. Made to order food can be found at the “My Fresh Cafe.” It features pizza, breakfast foods, burgers, salads, wraps, stromboli, fried foods, and chicken wings. Not far from the cafe, there’s a shake and smoothie machine.
R.L Vallee, Inc. of St. Albans, Vermont owns this store and about 46 others in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. Peru’s store will have about 20 employees. Macey Schweikert of Peru is the store manager.
