School Community and Local Community to Vote on New Mascot
Message from the Peru School District
There have been several committee meetings to discuss what the next Mascot will be for the Peru Central School District. At the last meeting and through several hours of deliberation, the committee selected three (3) semi-finalists to bring before the students, staff and greater school community: a) Nighthawk, b) Wolfpack, and c) Blue Jays. We are bringing these three names to the school community to vote this week.
For community members that want to vote but do not have access to a computer, we will have paper ballots available at the tax collector’s window to fill out and submit. This will open on Friday, October 30, 2020 through Thursday, November 5 at 3:00 pm.
We will have this posted on Parent Square, Facebook and our website for our families. On Thursday evening, we will tally the votes and will have chosen the new mascot to bring before the Board of Education for approval at the November 10 meeting.
On Friday, November 6th, we will post the election results for the new mascot on our Facebook page and Website.
