Yes, It’s Been Very Dry
Dust was flying high behind a planter working along the River Rd. yesterday. Peru weatherman John Hart confirmed that May has been a very dry month. John said, “In April we caught up with the average for the month, but it didn’t do a lot for the water year. “A water year begins on October 1st and continues for the next twelve months.
According to John Hart’s measurement, Peru received 3.73 inches of rainfall during April. Peru’s historical average for April is 2.61 inches (Per the website usclimatedata.com. Unfortunately, as of May 21st, Hart measured only 1.22 inches during this month, less than one-half of our 2.77-inch historical average rainfall.
Let’s hope we have more rain, not on weekends, of course.
