Weather Forecaster John Hart’s 2021 Rain Measurements for Peru, NY – “Moderate Drought Category.”
Jan-Jun 2021 is 1.97” below my 30-year average for the period! Not so much, but added to last year’s deficit and our warm/dry spells, it kept us in the moderate drought category.

Feb 1.62” 1.81” +0.19” –
Mar 1.97” 0 .79” – -1.18”
Apr 2.75” 3.73” +0.98 –
May 2.95” 1.57” – -1.38”
Jun 3.57” 2.52” – -1.05”
14.59” 12.62” +1.66” -3.61”
My soil condition is unseasonably dry. I haven’t had anything more than a mere 0.39″ of 24-hour rainfall in the last two months, so nothing worthwhile to “test for runoff,” so the hot spells have pretty much taken the vast majority away from us!
