Clinton County reports 14 additional lab-confirmed Covid positives, 42% of which involve vaccinated persons

Since our 8/9 update, 14 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported. Over the past month, 42% of all cases have been ‘breakthrough’ cases. In most of these cases, the vaccine is doing what it’s supposed to – reducing the severity of symptoms, chances of hospitalization, and death. None of these cases have required hospitalization.
Regardless of vaccination status, CCHD continues to recommend all residents wear masks indoors, avoid crowds and high-risk activities, wash hands frequently, and get vaccinated. Getting vaccinated reduces your chances of contracting COVID-19, protects you from severe illness requiring hospitalization and helps to eliminate the virus’ ability to mutate and create new variants.
Note: Our next case update will be posted on Monday, August 16.
