Adirondack Coast Sports Announces Extension of Indoor Field Sports Programs

Agreement between City of Plattsburgh and Elevate518, LLC continues the use of the Crete Civic Center for the next three seasons

Elevate518 LLC News Release

Plattsburgh, NY – Elevate518, LLC and the City of Plattsburgh have signed an agreement to continue the momentum of the 2020-2021 indoor field sports program at the Crete Memorial Civic Center in Plattsburgh, NY.

Elevate518 LLC, operating through its subsidiary Adirondack Coast Sports, managed the popular indoor field sports programs during the 2020-2021 winter season, which included soccer and flag football leagues, and lacrosse and baseball activities. In collaboration with the City of Plattsburgh, an arrangement for the next three seasons was reached in June 2021. Elevate518, LLC will have use of the Crete Civic Center for indoor sports activities and special events from November 1 through April 30 in 2022, 2023 and 2024, while the City considers next steps for the building as part of the larger City Beach redevelopment planning.
“This was a very positive and mutually beneficial arrangement that clearly benefits area youth and adults, and we are excited to continue this program for the region,” said Elevate518, LLC CEO Steve Peters. “Last year’s season required some quick reactions with both the approvals and the uncharted territory of COVID. We were ‘building the airplane on the way down’ so-to-speak which, all things considered, was a positive thing at a very dark time. This longer-term agreement allows stability and the ability to focus on programmatic changes and continual improvement. Safety and officiating improvements, playoff structures, and new communication tools are in the works for this upcoming season. And, as with last year’s program where we had no documented cases of COVID in the building, we will be in continual contact with the Health Department to provide the safest program possible.”

As in year’s past, two sessions will be offered (November 1, 2021-January 31, 2022, and February 1-April 30, 2022). Programs range from 8-and-under through adult in both soccer and flag football. Rentals for a variety of events are also available. Registration for the first session will begin on October 1, 2021 and can be done online at www.adirondackcoastsports.com. With only one field available, programs and rental hours fill up quickly.

“Last year’s numbers were staggering,” said Steve Peters. “Not necessarily with the total numbers, because we are limited with how many people we can put on the one field, but with how regional this program really is. Soccer and flag football programs, and baseball and lacrosse activities were drawing youth and adults from four counties and almost 50 municipalities.”

The 2020-2021 indoor program included over 2800 registrants, 4300+ visitors each week, and over 100,000 user days.
