Knights of Columbus want kids to be warm this winter
Peru – On Wednesday, November 3rd, St. Augustine’s Knights of Columbus Council 7273 presented twenty-two new children’s winter coats to Peru Primary School Nurse Kathy Bedard and Peru Intermediate School Nurse Linda Delong. When the outdoor temperatures drop, the nurses provide jackets to students as needs arise. Since 2013 the Peru Knights have donated 214 new children’s winter jackets to the Peru Elementary School.
The Knights of Columbus began the Coats for Kids Program during the 2009 recession. Today the 2,000 Knights of Columbus Councils in the United States and Canada distribute 100,000 or more coats each year.
