Local business confidence is way up

The county of Clinton is encouraged by the North Country Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Business Confidence Index results which were unveiled today. The Chamber announced that the 2022 Business Confidence Index is at 90 percent.

“Obviously the last two years have been difficult for North Country businesses, but we did what we always do; we pull together and push through,” said Mark Henry, Clinton County Legislature Chairman. “While we know there are still many challenges ahead, the County will continue to support our business community to help them grow. I thank the Chamber for their continued efforts to help our businesses navigate unchartered territory.”

“As a small business owner, I know how uncertain things seem, but the Chamber continues to be a strong partner with Clinton County and these numbers reflect the business community’s confidence in that relationship,” said Patty Waldron, Chairperson of the Clinton County Economic Development Committee. “We will continue to strengthen these relationships and help our businesses tackle some of the concerns raised in the survey.”

“It is clear that optimism is on the horizon for North Country businesses,” said Molly Ryan, Clinton County Economic Development Director. “Despite the many obstacles they have faced, they continue to push forward. I am grateful for the Chamber’s constant efforts to support our businesses and I look forward to working with them to foster the growing confidence in the business community.”
