An important message from Sister Debbie Blow, Director of the North Country Mission of Hope
Hi Everyone,
1. I’ve received many questions about the 1500+ enhanced trauma first aid kits for Ukraine. What do they look like? How big? What’s in them? So, I thought you might appreciate a 2 1/2 minute video explanation. Here’s the link to view: https://youtu.be/IxHwL0qDB2Y
There are still five more items to be added to kits upon arrival, but it’s quite amazing how small they are but packed with crucial items. The other items that will be added are: Celox/hemostatic gauze, trauma shears, 3way valve IV tubing, tegaderm bandages, hygiene chest seals, hypertonic NACL, more gauze/bandages and chlorexidine wipes.
Each kit can assist with multiple seriously wounded persons.
I extend a special thank you to all the Mission of Hope volunteers who showed up over three days as well as to Devi Momot and the Twinstate team, local community volunteers, and a US special ops wounded veteran, Nicholas, who guided the process!
This is an amazing effort by many.
2. I received notification this morning that we will be receiving a donation of $3500 for our Ukraine project with the Sisters Servants of Immaculate Mary who are providing care for orphans and displaced victims of this war. Debbie Egan, one of our Dominican Associates, is the Principal of St John the Apostle School in Clark, NJ. All students in PreK through 8 competed in a Penny Challenge to raise the money. It was a week-long event during Spirit Week. What an awesome effort by Debbie, her staff and students. Thanks so much, Debbie.
Let us live in Hope and pray for peace.
