Retired Educators announce winners Educator Awards to two local teachers.
The $1000 Retired Educators of NY (RENY) Hudson-Kramer Memorial Grant will be awarded to Michael Trudo of Northeastern Clinton Central School for his project ‘Ukuleles in the Classroom’ to purchase a class set of ukuleles which will be used by his fifth-grade students in Mooers Elementary School and Rouses Point Elementary School. This grant honors Ross Hudson and Florence Coulter Kramer, dedicated and devoted members of RENY. This grant is offered every other year.

The winner of our annual NEZ award of $500, which honors Dr. Karl Kramer, former professor and mentor to Education Majors at SUNY Plattsburgh and long-time devoted member of the Northeastern Zone of RENY, is Amanda Trombley of Northern Adirondack Central School. The award money for her project, ‘Analysis of a Bouncing Ball,’ will be used to purchase equipment, CBR motion sensor devices, that will allow upper-level high school math students to observe and relate the connection between mathematical calculations of the graphs and the physical motion of the ball.
