After several months of relatively good existing single-family home sales, Clinton County sales slowed significantly in September according to figures released Saturday by the New York State Association of Realtors. There was one bright point in the survey – median home prices rose compared to last year.
Only four of the fifty-eight of the New York counties included in the realtors’ survey had a greater decrease than Clinton County. Forty Clinton County homes were sold this September compared to fifty-nine sold last September, a decrease of 32.2%. The median August sales price increased 11.5% from $108,000 to $120,450.
Statewide, the number of homes sold in September declined by 4% compared to the previous September while median sales prices declined by 3.4%. The statewide median sales price this September was $215,000.
