National news stories highlight problems in the housing sector; however, 2008 home construction in Peru contradicts the national trend. Statistics compiled by Peru Code Enforcement Officer Paul Blaine indicate that 17 permits have been issued for site built/modular homes in 2008 compared to 9 during the same period last year. At least two developers are considering additional expansion. KLC Development has submitted sketch plans for fourteen lots adjacent to the Arnold Road and a high-end home developer is considering expansion of his subdivision.
