Community Church missioners are ready to go!
By John T. Ryan
On Saturday, January 17, 2009, the Peru Community Church’s Mission Team will depart on its 10th journey to Mandeville, Jamaica. Team members George Burrell and Hank Horn traveled to Jamaica earlier in the week to lay out the team projects.
Members of the Ridgemont Church in Mandeville have identified three people who need homes and three homes in need of repair. Burrell and Horn will evaluate the projects and order the needed materials so when the team arrives they will be able to immediately go to work. Reverend Dr. Robert Svenson, Pastor of the Peru Community Church, will preach at the Ridgemont Church on Sunday. The missioners will be in Jamaica from January 17 to January 26.
The Community Church Jamaican Mission started in 1999 as an effort to assist Roy Jones of Porus, Jamaica who was severely injured when he fell while picking apples in Peru. Over the years, the missioners have modified and improved Jones’ house to make it as comfortable as possible. George and Harriet Burrell have coordinated the mission trip since its beginning.

If someone could let Jerrilynn know that an old friend is trying to re-connect with her, would appreciate. You have my email address. She is actually living near where I was born; Glens Falls, NY.

Jerrilynn, I never stopped thinking about you. You were so kind to me when I lived in California. I am still living in Tacoma, WA. Blessings.
