Peru Community Church is responding to Hurricane Sandy and you can help
The Peru Community Church is known for its action in the face of adversity. In
the past, when action is needed members of our church have been quick to
respond. We are again faced with a need to which the Mission Committee has
decided to respond. We are in contact with St Paul's Methodist Church in Brick, NJ where many houses
have been destroyed and many people are suffering. For the next 2 days, we will
be gathering quantities of non-perishable food items and some clothing.
(Deadline Tuesday). We need all the help we can get!
Need: Family sized non-perishable food items such as: Canned stew, vegetables,
meats, tuna, hearty soups, spaghetti sauce etc. with tab openers or supply a can
opener. Other items needed are pasta, rice, powdered milk, pancake mix, cereals,
baby foods and formula.
Coats and clothes are also needed.
Where to leave items: Please leave items in boxes in the Fellowship Center Foyer
by the bulletin board marked "NJ Storm Help" between the hours of 8:30 am and
4:30 pm. Monday and Tuesday. If impossible for you to make those hours, call
George Burrell 643-9778.
Trucks/Vans and drivers needed: We will need one or two more vans or pickup
trucks with caps on them. We also will need additional drivers to share the trip
hopefully on Wed.
Money: In addition to the above we would use cash donations toward gas costs or
purchase additional food items.
Pass it on! Please send this email to any and all you know who might be able to
help! Time is short and we want to help now!
