Bob Washboure visits Apache Lake Arizona
From our campsite here we go east on the famous Apache trail, a road that was built over the original Apache trail around 1900 to haul materials to build Roosevelt Dam. Most of the road is still dirt and has hairpin curves with unprotected drop offs 1500 feet down to the valley floor and fish creek below. Spectacular scenery as we slowly navigate the steep grades and switchbacks. (See Bob’s Photos)
