Don’t forget to vote today on PSC bus purchases
Peru Central School District residents will vote today on a proposed bus purchase.
The vote by qualified residents will take place from noon to 9 p.m. in the gymnasium of the High School Building.
The proposition asks for permission to purchase three standard 65-passenger buses at an estimated maximum cost of $110,000 each, with the total not to exceed $330,000.
The cost would be covered by property taxes but partially offset by state aid.
To be a qualified voter, a person must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age or older and resident within the School District for at least 30 days preceding the special meeting.
The School District may require people to provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, a non-driver identification card, a utility bill or a voter registration card.
Completed absentee ballots must be received in the office of the district clerk by 5 p.m. today.
