New Primary School Principal Starts July 1st
Media Release from Peru Central School 11:15 a.m.
Scott J. Osborne, with prior success as a K-12 Principal, elementary grades classroom teacher, a Reading First program literacy coach and peer presenter, was appointed last night by Peru Central’s Board of Education to a three-year probationary appointment as Primary School Principal, starting on or about July 1, 2009, when veteran administrator Christine Angevine retires from active service as a Primary Principal at Peru Central. The Primary School enrolls approximately 440 students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Superintendent A. Paul Scott said Peru Central received applications from over a dozen individuals who are state-certified for this administrative position. “We are fortunate to have in Scott Osborne extensive experience as a classroom teacher in a team setting, and a solid track record of success in his current work as a Building Principal in Essex County.”
The Superintendent looks forward to working with Principal Osborne in the years ahead. “He is well prepared to provide top quality service as a Principal for Peru Primary School.” Superintendent Scott said Mr. Osborne’s particular blend of experience and patterns of success were instrumental in Principal Osborne’s selection as ‘best match’ for this Principal position from the candidate pool of state-certified applicants.
