Peru PTO and Adirondack Coast Events Announce the Inaugural Peru Pride 5K Run/Walk
Race to benefit the Peru PTO Playground Replacement Fund
Peru, NY – The Peru PTO will host the inaugural Peru Pride 5k Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Heyworth/Mason Park in Peru. All proceeds will benefit the Peru PTO playground replacement fund. Registration can be completed online at www.adirondackcoastevents.com.
The Peru Pride Kids Fun Run is for children 12 and under and will start at 8:45am. It will be a 1/3 mile loop in Heyworth/Mason Park in the heart of Peru, NY. The 5k race is for all ages and kicks off at 9am. It is an out-and-back course on the amazing cinder bike path that meanders through the woods along and across the Little Ausable River out to Route 22.
“The Peru PTO is excited to present this fun and healthy event to our community,” said Lindsey Wendorff, Peru PTO President. “We have a wonderful park and trail to showcase and this run will be a great way to enjoy Spring and raise funds to benefit our Peru children.”
5k registrants get an Peru Pride t-shirt if registered before April 21. Kids Fun Run registrants get a free gift and finisher’s ribbon. Awards in the 5k are given to the top 3 in the following divisions: U-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ and a Stroller division.
The race fee for the 5k is $20 for online pre-registration with a $5 discount per runner with family registration or an option for a $2 discount for group registrations. Race day registration will be $25 on site. The Kids Fun Run requires a $10 online pre-registration and $15 on race day.
