Town Snowplow Overturns This Morning
Jan. 4, 2019 Peru – A Town of Peru snowplow overturned on the Reservoir Rd. about 5 a.m. this morning. The truck and plow were damaged; thankfully the operator was not injured. The accident took place on the steep hill not far from the Mother Cabrini Shrine. Highway Superintendent Michael Farrell said the sand-loaded truck encountered glare ice while ascending the hill, slid backwards, twisted sideways and overturned. The plow wing struck and severely damaged the truck’s right door, mirror and windshield.
Rock’s Garage towed the truck to its garage where it awaits further examination and a repair estimate.
