Why do hikers love what they do?

As many of the Gazette’s readers know my wife Jean became an Adirondack “46er” about ten years ago. Jean still hikes when she can. On September 25th Jean and a group of fellow hikers hiked the Jay Range. The hike began not far from Keene Valley. Colleen Kaulfuss was one of the group and she emailed some beautiful photos set to music. I think the photos help explain why these folks enjoy a day in the Adirondacks so much. She also included some photos she took the following day on a hike to Hopkins Mountain.
