Local Dec. 15 COVID-19 Report: Lab-confirmed positive +17, Recovered +2, Active 139 of which approx. 1/3 Are at Clinton Correctional, Tested +418

There is a light at the end of the tunnel with vaccines, but immunity isn’t just around the corner. It’s going to take many months to roll out vaccines. We need to remain careful and take precautions to avoid unnecessary illness and death.
Since our 12/14 update, 17 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported and 2 individuals have moved to recovered. We continue to see many close contacts of positive cases becoming positive, as well as many new cases associated with small gatherings and “informal” interactions with friends and family members. Approximately 1/3 of our current active cases are among inmates at Clinton Correctional Facility.

COVID-19 is in our community. Do your part to slow the spread:

– Wear a mask that goes over your nose AND mouth.
– Watch your distance (keep 6 feet between yourself and others).
– Avoid crowds and gatherings.
– Wash your hands often with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
– Stay home if you are sick.
– Reduce contact with people that don’t live in your household as much as possible.
Your individual actions and choices matter. T
